So many things to discover... Mixed woodlands, panoramic views, a medieval church, remnants of the historical Sempil estate, a pleasant loch shore walk — and proximity to the popular Castle Semple Visitor Centre. Througout the wood you will observe many seasonal changes. Spring brings Bluebell carpets, warmer weather a profusion of cheering summer flowers, the tints of autumn foliage, and the crispness of winter. Animals, birds, butterflies, moths and other insects occupy the numerous habitats provided by the wood. There are interesting things to discover all year round. The entrance to Parkhill Wood is an approx 15 minute walk (1km) east from the main Castle Semple Centre. The entrance to the wood may be approached via the signed cycle route (shown as the green route below) or via the pleasant lochshore walk (red route). The cycle route is smooth level asphalt, the lochshore walk has an unsealed surface but is smooth. NOTE: There is a short steep gradient at the wood end of the lochshore path that may be unsuitable for some people. Benches are provided on both routes. From Castle Semple Visitor Centre:

Signposted Walks & Cycle Routes Parkhill Wood is the old policy woodland of the Semple estate. It become part of the Country Park in 1973 and now incorporates several signposted paths. Below is a map showing the colour coded routes corresponding to directional markerposts within the wood.
